How is the Pet Vu GPS Pet Tracker product different from a microchip or Bluetooth 4.0 tracking tags?
The Pet Vu GPS Pet Tracker is a system that uses innovative GPS and cellular supported technology to enable you to locate and view where your pet is at any time and alert you if your pet leaves a pre-defined zone i.e. home. Traditional microchipping and RFID tags are an important part of pet care, however, it is a reactive technology when it comes to losing your dog. In order to locate a lost dog using a microchip, a dog has to be found and taken to a vet or shelter with access to the right database with the owner's correct information.
Bluetooth 4.0 tracking beacons operate based on Crowd GPS. This is based on proximity to Apple iOS or Android phones users in the range of 50-100 feet, equipped with the applicable mobile app. Therefore, if the Bluetooth beacon is not within the range of IOS or Android phone user, which has the applicable app downloaded to communicate with the beacon, location data will not be available.
Where Does the Pet Vu GPS Pet Tracker product currently work?
Currently, the Pet Vu GPS Pet Tracker is sold only in Canada and operates on Canada’s most reliable cellular network- Rogers Wireless and Bell Mobility Networks.
